Privacy notice
How the Delta North Election Management System uses your information. Version 2026-11-v2.
Who holds your data
The Delta North Senatorial Campaign Council, through its Directorate of Support Groups ("the Directorate"), is the data controller. [Name of the processor that hosts the system] hosts it on the Directorate's behalf as data processor.
What we hold
Your name, phone number, voter card number (VIN), National Identification Number (NIN), gender, LGA, ward and polling unit; whether you have collected your PVC; the canvasser who enrolled you and when; your stated support (supporter, undecided or opposed); the result of any call-back; and, only if you agree separately, the location where you were enrolled. Canvassers also give the polling unit they work in, and send election-day reports and photos of result sheets.
Your stated support reveals your political opinion, which the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 treats as sensitive personal data. We only hold it with your explicit consent, recorded with the date and the version of this notice.
Why we hold it
- To make sure each voter is counted once across Delta North and that the campaign's numbers are real.
- To confirm voters by phone call-backs and to plan canvassing and turnout by polling unit.
- To give canvassers instructions, airtime and data, and to receive their election-day reports.
We do not sell your data or share it outside the Directorate and its processor.
To count each voter once, this register is checked against the Directorate's Support Groups register before a record is saved. The check only answers whether the voter card, NIN or phone is already enrolled there; no other details are shared.
Your NIN is checked once with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) through Prembly, a licensed verification partner, to catch mistyped or invalid numbers. We keep only the answer (matched, name differs or not found), never the details NIMC holds about you.
Who can see it
- You can see your own record when you sign in with your phone.
- The canvasser who enrolled you sees your name, voter card, phone and polling unit, never your NIN.
- LGA and ward coordinators see records in their own area, with the NIN masked.
- Authorised Directorate staff see records with the NIN masked; only the verification desk and the data desk see it in full. Every change and export is logged.
- The AI-written briefing receives numbers and canvasser codes only, never names, phones, voter cards or NINs.
How we protect it
Your NIN is encrypted when stored and shown masked on screen. Directorate staff sign in with two-factor authentication.
How long we keep it
Until six months after the January 2027 general election, then it is deleted unless you renew your consent. [Retention period to be confirmed.]
Your rights
You can see and correct your record, withdraw your consent and ask for your record to be deleted. Write to [email protected].
